A: Yes. Boomerang Movers holds a Massachusetts Moving License (MDPU No. 31673), active US DOT authority (No. 2204901), and MC authority (No. 765077). Q: Can I insure my household items that Boomerang moves or stores?
A: Yes. We offer two valuation options for your belongings:
Option A — Released Value Protection: Free declared value coverage at $0.60 per pound per article. All items are depreciated. This is the most basic level of protection.
Option B — Options to choose with varying deductibles and a fee per $1,000 of valuation. All items are depreciated. This option provides greater coverage for higher-value items.
We recommend discussing valuation options with us when you book so you can choose the right level of protection for your move. For additional coverage beyond these options, we recommend contacting your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance provider.
Q: How will you protect my furniture during the move?
A: Every piece of furniture is wrapped in moving blankets and secured with shrink wrap before it’s loaded onto the truck. Furniture is then strapped to the walls of the moving truck to prevent shifting during transport. We also use floor protection and door frame guards at your home to prevent damage during the move. Our goal is to deliver your belongings in exactly the same condition we picked them up.
Q: How do I pack my personal items such as dishware, clothing, books, and records?
A: Here are our recommendations for packing common household items:
- Dishes: Use packing paper or bubble wrap on the bottom of the box and between each dish. Wrap any glass well with bubble wrap or paper. You want very little movement inside the box — aim for at least 1 inch of cushion on every side.
- Clothing: Use a wardrobe box with a metal bar to hang clothes, or pack folded clothing in standard boxes. Many customers simply pack clothes in garbage bags for short local moves.
- Media and files: Pack boxes tightly with little to no air space. A properly packed book box should be stackable without crushing.
- Appliances: Unplug, clean, and defrost if necessary. Drain any water and secure loose parts inside the appliance before moving day.
- Motorized equipment: Drain gas and oil completely and break down as much as possible before the crew arrives.

A: Yes. We offer full packing service — where we pack your entire home from start to finish — and partial packing service for specific rooms or fragile items only. We supply all materials including boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape, and wardrobe boxes. Unpacking at your destination is available too. Ask about adding packing services when you call for your free estimate.
Q: When is my payment due?
A: A small deposit is required to reserve your moving date. The final balance is due at the completion of your move.
Q: Should I tip the movers?
A: Tipping is completely at your discretion — it is never required. That said, our crews work extremely hard in all weather conditions and gratuities are always appreciated. Most customers tip at the end of the job when everything is complete. Cash and credit card tips are both accepted and greatly appreciated.

Q: Do I need to empty my dresser drawers before the movers arrive?
A: For local moves, dresser drawers can often stay packed with clothing and soft items — our crew will wrap the dresser and move it carefully. For long-distance moves or very heavy dressers, we recommend emptying the drawers to reduce weight and prevent damage during transit. A: There are certain items we are unable to transport for safety and legal reasons.
